Just started a short painting class. This was what I did today, for the first class. In order to work with tones, the teacher had us use black and white only and mix seven different greys. To give us ideas to start from, she had us pick a photo from a magazine and cut out a small bit from it, with nothing but shapes. No clue if you'll be able to figure out what I picked - it's obvious to me, but then again I picked the original picture.
